Until a few weeks ago, we knew very little about Star Wars Episode IX. But then a trailer was released, the title The Rise of Skywalker was revealed, the return of Emperor Palpatine was confirmed, and we started getting a clearer idea of what this movie would be about. It seems as though J.J. Abrams’ focus is on bringing the Skywalker saga to a close in a satisfying way, tying up all the loose ends and paying off all the big ambiguous moments from previous movies....

The Star Wars Expanded Universe, now known as Legends, is a weird and wonderful place. Before Disney took over Star Wars, it was a place for Star Wars fans to get information, knowledge, and stories out with the films that connected to the universe. All the content still exists, they just are no longer canon and so are nothing to do with the films or universe anymore. Overall, it is probably for the best with the amount of nonsense the universe hold, and the fact there is fantastic stuff in the canon universe with more to come, with the best parts of Legends likely joining it sooner or later....

When the Flash was introduced into the DC Extended Universe via Batman v Superman three years ago, we were promised a solo movie for the Scarlet Speedster. Of course, we still haven’t seen that solo movie and Warner Bros. hasn’t gotten it any closer to production. Still, Ezra Miller wrote his own script earlier this year to cling to the role and show his commitment to the studio, and he announced recently that the Flash movie was “absolutely confirmed” for the DCEU....

High school as a horror movie may have been the original concept behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but Joss Whedon and Co. were still churning out bad guys long after the slayer left Sunnydale High. Whether they were inspired by other works of fiction (Dracula, for example) or created entirely from scratch, the supernatural foes the Scooby Gang encountered were more creative than just your run-of-the-mill vamps. Although many of the Buffy baddies were purposefully designed to be campy and fun, some of them were genuinely frightening (especially in the later seasons), and you can’t help but wonder how they got away with a TV-14 rating....

Released in the summer of 1998, The Wedding Singer is that rare beast: an Adam Sandler comedy which manages to be charming, sweet and perhaps most notably, consistently funny. Sure, the film shoehorns in more lazy 80s references than the entire first season of The Goldbergs. It also sees the current critics’ whipping boy wisely toning down the passive-aggressive manchild routine he’s become notorious for, strike up a sparkling rapport with Drew Barrymore which would prove to be surprisingly enduring, and utilize an eclectic cast which included an octogenarian rapper, a Boy George lookalike and one of the ‘80s finest bleached blonde punk rockers....

A 13 year-old iPhone user will be going to court against Apple Korea next month over an iPhone 3G repair dispute.
